The mission of Human Cell Atlas is to create comprehensive maps of all human cells,as a basis for understanding and human health and diagnosing, monitoring and treating diseases. One of the ways in which we engage our global community of nearly 2000 members is by hosting virtual meetings that address scientific discoveries, technologies, and computational techniques on relevant topics.

No topic could be more relevant, or urgent, than the ongoing Covid-19 pandemic.Early in the crisis HCA research led to significant findings related to the etiology of the disease, as highlighted in a series of papers and at our joint workshop with NIH inMarch 2020.  Since that time single-cell analysis has continued to yield profound insights into the transmission and pathogenesis of Covid-19.  The forthcoming symposium will feature these advances and provide an opportunity for researchers to share data and hypotheses and connect with others working on similar problems.
