Themission of Human Cell Atlas is to create comprehensive maps of all human cells,as a basis for understanding and human health and diagnosing, monitoring andtreating diseases. One of the ways in which we engage our global community ofnearly 2000 members is by hosting virtual meetings that address scientificdiscoveries, technologies, and computational techniques on relevant topics.

Notopic could be more relevant, or urgent, than the ongoing Covid-19 pandemic.Early in the crisis HCA research led to significant findings related to theetiology of the disease, as highlighted in a series of papers and at our joint workshop with NIH inMarch 2020.  Since that time single-cell analysis has continued to yieldprofound insights into the transmission and pathogenesis of Covid-19.  Theforthcoming symposium will feature these advances and provide an opportunityfor researchers to share data and hypotheses and connect with others working onsimilar problems.
